I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving full of happiness, family, friends, food, and laughter! I decided to make some truffles for turkey day and they were a hit at the table during dessert time! I made the traditional chocolate truffles; however, I had some leftover melt candies from Halloween and decided to create vanilla truffles for the vanilla-lovers in my family. Pictured to the left are the vanilla truffles that I had made for the very first time for Thanksgiving. I sat down with my niece and nephew at the dining table with our three cups of hot tea and we became the "taste-testers" (since it was also my first time trying the vanilla truffles). I said, "Okay, if they taste good I'll make them again and... if they don't... well, we just won't eat them and I won't ever make them again!" So the results, according to my nephew, they taste like cookie dough... which is a definite plus! We concluded that they are indeed edible and worthy of making again... SUCCESS! :) Happy truffle-ing! Just don't eat too many of them or you'll be in truffle trouble!

Here is a picture of one of my smiley first-graders using the double-digit addition guide that I created. She was having trouble with regrouping during math (with lining up the numbers and number placement) so I worked one-on-one with her using this guide. I will tell you this, the guide helped her immensely and, believe it or not, she was smiling bigger than the smiley face shown in the picture when she finally grasped it! There's nothing more rewarding than a student having a "light bulb" moment! If you'd like to purchase the guide (which I slightly altered since the picture), just click on the image to the left and it will take you to my TpT store! :) Happy November!
